MV 'Three Rivers' MS was called in on board of mv "Three Rivers" in Romania to execute an alignment check of the propulsion line after a big hull repair. On board the "loose" chocks were directly noticed by one of our Alignment Engineers and the conclusion was made that rechocking was necessary. Since the ship had an age of 18 years no alignment targets, shaft loads or crankshaft deflections of these 270 tons engine was known. MS engineered a new alignment target and recovered the other data. A complete team together with a MS rechocking package was sent to Romania to support our Alignment Engineer on-site. The main engine and the support bearing were realigned and chocked. During sea trials, alignment, deflections and temperatures were checked and all were within the stated limits. |
